Utah’s Governor Signs Kratom Consumer Protection Act

March 27, 2019 by LCK

In a victory for both kratom consumers and the kratom industry, Utah became the first state to pass the Kratom Consumer Protection Act when Governor Gary Herbert signed it into law this week.

The American Kratom Association, along with support from consumers, vendors, and political allies, led the charge to educate Utah’s lawmakers on the merits of sensible kratom regulation. The legislation will protect kratom consumers from adulterated and misbranded products and will demand that vendors to be responsible and compliant. Left Coast Kratom is grateful for the work AKA has done to encourage compliance in the kratom industry and to keep kratom consumers and products safe.

Left Coast Kratom supports the AKA’s advocacy efforts and participates in the AKA GMP Standards Program. We hope our customers get involved, stay informed, and donate to AKA so they can continue to work for our community!

Why Left Coast Kratom? It’s All About GMP

March 25, 2019 by LCK

Learn About LCK’s Good Manufacturing Practices

Left Coast Kratom is proud to participate in the American Kratom Association’s GMP Program and to comply with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) to keep our products pure and our customers safe. Here are a just a few of the recent improvements we’ve implemented:

  • – Environmental controls to test for pathogens in the facility
  • – Revamped sanitation controls policies and procedures
  • – More rigorous screening process for suppliers and products
  • – Milling and blending process to allow for more accurate testing
  • – More comprehensive testing protocols
  • – The use of two or more labs in testing our product

We have always employed extremely stringent receiving, testing, and quarantine procedures to ensure the safety and purity of our products. Within the last few months, we’ve enhanced these processes so we can be sure that we identify any potential contamination or adulteration. We’ve moved our testing to new labs (with a secondary lab acting as a failsafe), and we’re sharing our educational resources with suppliers as well as other vendors. Our company is taking all measures necessary not only to guarantee the safety of our customers, but also to protect our industry as a whole.

Left Coast Kratom only offers Kratom Tea products that are tested for identification, heavy metals content ([AOAC 2013.06] Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury) and for microbial safety (Aerobic Plate Count [AOAC 990.12], Yeast and Mold [AOAC 997.02], Coliforms and E Coli [AOAC 991.4], and Salmonella [AOAC-RI 050701]), and only products which pass these tests will be available to order.

We hope all kratom companies will take seriously their responsibility to prevent unsafe products from entering the market, and we urge consumers to conduct due diligence when choosing a kratom vendor. Don’t be afraid to ask important questions about their manufacturing practices and testing, or to request Certificates of Analysis from accredited laboratories. Reputable vendors will have no problem answering these queries and should be able to provide you with information about their products and processes.

The health and safety of kratom consumers is important to us. It’s why we aim to be compliant with Good Manufacturing Practices and why we’ve recently audited our facility and supply chain. The Left Coast Kratom team is steadfast in our commitment to providing safe and effective products for our customers and we appreciate the opportunity to serve you!

Indonesia Kratom Ban and Scheduling

March 10, 2019 by LCK

The American Kratom Association recently learned that the Indonesian government, through the Minister of Health, has made a proposal that would categorize kratom as a Schedule I drug. If enacted, this policy would ban kratom exports to the United States, essentially cutting off an important supply chain for American kratom companies and consumers.

The AKA, along with the Botanical Education Alliance and support from vendors like us, has assembled a delegation of lawmakers, policy experts, and scientists to go to Indonesia and meet with high-ranking government officials there. They will make the case, from a policy, science, and economic perspective, that Indonesia should not embark upon this course of action.

Donate now to help AKA keep kratom legal!

Members of the delegation include former Congressman Matt Salmon (a key supporter in 2016 with extensive foreign relations experience in Southeast Asia), Utah State Senator Bramble (sponsor of Utah’s Kratom Consumer Protection Act and chair of the National Conference of State Legislators Foundation International Committee), and kratom researcher Dr. Jack Henningfield. They will be meeting with Indonesia’s Ministry of Health and the Indonesian equivalent of the DEA, as well as with Indonesian kratom growers.

This is a critical moment for the US kratom industry and for kratom consumers everywhere. Please consider a donation to the American Kratom Association to support their delegation’s trip to Indonesia. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

Kratom Extracts: Left Coast Kratom Enhanced Kratom & Extracts

March 7, 2019 by LCK

Have you ever tried using kratom extract rather than kratom powder? Have you heard about it and wondered if it was the right choice for you to try?

Kratom extract differs from kratom powder in that it is much more potent than the powder. The extract is made through a process which leaves behind a thick paste that contains concentrated alkaloids, resulting in a product that is up to 15x stronger than kratom leaf or powder. Extracts can be used in much smaller servings, but they aren’t the right choice for everyone.

Let’s take a look at what enhanced kratom powders and kratom extracts available from our store right now.

#1: Ultra Enhanced Indo (UEI)

Ultra Enhanced Indo (UEI) is a standardized enhanced kratom which contains 250mg of alkaloid per 5 grams of the enhanced powder. This powder is typically made with a green vein Indo kratom, and then this kratom is infused with even more alkaloids. That is what makes it ultra enhanced.

UEI powder is known to be one of the strongest versions of kratom, so be sure to start with a very small amount. After that, you can gradually increase the how much you consume. If you use too much of an ultra enhanced kratom immediately, you may not love how you feel.

#2: Kratom Extract Samples

This item from our shop is just what its name says: Kratom Extract Samples. This is a special offer item that we are really excited to share. You can get a sample of one gram of any of the kratom extracts for a fixed price. If you spend enough, the sample will be free!

All of the 10 other products on this list today are included on the samples, so you can get as many or as few samples as you want to. We highly recommend trying out as many different extracts as you can. Every extract is different, so you want to be able to try them yourself to decide what you really think about them!

#3: Gold Elephas Kratom Extract

The Gold Elephas Kratom Extract that we supply at Left Coast Kratom has over 250 mg of alkaloid content in each one gram serving. The blend mixes traditional kratom powder with pure alkaloid to create a more potent final product.

#4: Private Reserve Liquid Kratom Extract

We’re excited to introduce to you the Private Reserve Liquid Kratom Extract, a specialty of Left Coast Kratom. This unique liquid kratom extract is a premium Maeng Da Thai leaf extract liquid.

For those that usually like Gold Reserve extracts, you will surely enjoy this one! To create this powder, pure mitragynine powder is blended with the highest quality White Maeng Da leaf.

#7: Full Spectrum Kratom Extract (FST)

The Full Spectrum Kratom Extract (FST) is a white vein, liquid Kratom extract. This mixture contains ethanol and citric acid, and the bottle contains over 70mg of pure alkaloid content. The triple-filtered final product is one of the best products we have ever offered.

#8: FSE Kratom Extract

The FSE Kratom Extract is another liquid extract worth sharing – but you might not want to! Every bottle contains over 11 grams of Bali Kratom leaves, and that leaves the bottle with 1.7% mitragynine Bali leaf powder extract. The blend is a great mix of red and white vein varieties for balanced final extract.

#9: Gold Reserve Kratom Extract

If you want to try a kratom extract that has been a long time favorite among kratom users, you cannot go wrong with the Gold Reserve Kratom Extract.

This extract has about 8x the alkaloid content that its original form, Sudanese powdered kratom, would have had. Our unique blend has more than 250 mg of alkaloids per gram of extract, so you know it’s powerful!

#10: 50x Kratom Extract

The 50x Kratom Extract is one of those unique blends that are made from water and fresh leaf extractions. The process helps to ensure a high mitragynine content of 11%. Because this amount is so high, the total alkaloid content may be as high as 25%.

#11: Maeng Da Kratom Extract (Full Spectrum)

Finally, let’s look at the Maeng Da Kratom Extract (Full Spectrum). This unique extract powder is made using what is known as an all-natural extraction method. This method keeps many different substances intact to give us a full spectrum kratom extract.

How To use Your Extracts

Now that you know more about the various Kratom extracts that we offer here at Left Coast Kratom, you might still be wondering what the best ways to use your enhanced Kratom products are! Can they be used in the same was other Kratom powders, or do you need to take special care?

Best Kratom Powder and Leaf: Strains From Left Coast Kratom

March 6, 2019 by LCK

When you start shopping around for kratom power, you’ll know in seconds that there is a lot more to this botanical product than you might have originally realized!

While all kratom is known for its unique combination of alkaloids, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, not every strain that we sell here at Left Coast Kratom has the same characteristics, uses, or look. Today, we’re going to untangle the confusion that is Kratom strains.

Our full inventory of Kratom powder and leaf products contains many different strains; here is a complete list of what we currently offer!

Maeng Da Thai Kratom

Maeng Da Thai Kratom is one of the most popular choices, but most people don’t realize that is is a modified version of a less-popular kratom plant! The plant was first cultivated in Thailand and then Indonesia in an attempt to have a higher alkaloid content. The experiment was a success, and now Maeng Da Thai is one of the most sought after strains!

Here at Left Coast Kratom, we offer Maeng Da Thai Kratom in a few different forms:

  • Maeng Da Thai Kratom Leaf (Red Vein)
  • Maeng Da Thai Kratom Powder (Red Vein)
  • Horn Maeng Da Kratom Powder

These varieties are characterized by red veins on the leaves and are typically harvested from more mature trees. Regardless of which vein or product you end up with, it’s fun to check out the different consumption methods for Maeng Da Thai Kratom products. You can try brewing tea with the leaf or powder and adding honey or flavorings to enhance the taste!

OG Bali Kratom

Kratom from Bali is one of the most well-known and popular types of kratom. In fact, it might be the most in demand kratom strain of them all! Because Bali has been a leader in kratom production for so long, many companies focus on this strain as their primary target. It’s also a great strain for those who are new to kratom, making it a common first choice.

While the leaves on Bali kratom are generally darker than other strains, the veins can set apart three different types of Bali kratom: white, green, and red vein.

The two Bali products that we currently offer are the OG Bali Kratom Leaf and its counterpart, the OG Bali Kratom Powder.

Sumatra Kratom

Sumatra Kratom is a strain that has been around for thousands of years, but it has only started to grow in popularity in recent years.

Red Vein Sumatra Kratom powders like our Sumatra Kratom Powder (Red Vein) is one of our bestselling types kratom. Our powder contains an average of 1.3% mitragynine content and is from the islands of Indonesia.

White vein varieties like our Sumatra Kratom Powder (White Vein), on the other hand, are a great choice for those looking to switch up their typical kratom routine or try a new strain. Our powder contains an average of 1.4% mitragynine content.

Borneo Kratom

Borneo Kratom is probably one of the most prolific types of kratom. When searching for strain types, Borneo kratom shows up very frequently, and the information provided can be overwhelming as you are basically starting everything from scratch.

Left Coast Kratom currently carries these two Borneo products: Borneo Kratom Powder (Red Vein) and Borneo Kratom Powder (White Vein).

Thai Kratom

Thai Kratom powders, unsurprisingly, originate from trees that are native to Thailand. These leaves can be grown with different veins depending on the specific type of tree and where it is grown.

Here at Left Coast Kratom, we carry both red vein and green vein varieties of Thai kratom.

Our Thai Kratom Powder (Red Vein) is sourced from mature trees that have the red pinnate venation, leading to a reddish-tinted powder. The average mitragynine content is 1.3%. This blend has many fans among regular kratom consumers.

On the other hand, the Thai Kratom Powder (Green Vein) is sourced from trees that have veins that are green in the middle regions of the leaves. Still native to Thailand, this variety is usually harvested from younger trees.

Other Kratom Strains

We have a number of other standalone strains that you may be interested in experimenting with as well.

Super Green Malaysian Kratom Powder is known to be one of the highest potency strains of Kratom on the market. Originating in Malaysia, our strain has an amazing average mitragynine content of 1.9%.

Kali Kratom Powder (Red Vein) is sometimes confused with Bali kratom powder, but this strain is from the Kalimantan region of Borneo. This balanced strain falls somewhere between the green and white veins.

If you are already getting overwhelmed by all the choices that we have available, you may be interested to try out some of our Kratom Powder Samples! These samples are just one gram, so you can invest in trying them out without a huge commitment. Find your new favorite with samples!

Next up, let’s talk about the Red Dragon Kratom Powder. This relatively new strain is native to Thailand, and we have a very reliable supply source. Fans of Thai kratom and Red Maeng Da should give this one a try!

Finally, our last strain on today’s guide is the Super Indo Kratom Powder. This strain from Indonesia is made from large leaves with high alkaloid content, so you can expect super high potency. Its balanced alkaloid profile indicates a well-rounded experience.
