An Introduction To Kratom Blends From Left Coast Kratom

January 3, 2023 by Jacob

We’re starting the New Year with a bang! Left Coast Kratom is proud to announce the launch of two new proprietary Kratom blends to begin your New Year on a high note. No pun intended!

Left Coast Kratom hit a new milestone this week as we launched Kratom blends for the first time ever. Our happy customers who loved our Kratom products were flooding us with emails requesting special blends that combined the alkaloid properties of different strains. We listened to them and had our R&D team experiment with various combinations of Kratom strains and sources.

We’ve finally perfected the right set of blends that deliver everything our customers wanted out of Kratom blends and more. Here’s why our Kratom blends are flying off our proverbial shelves.

Freshness and Novelty

Kratom has become part of mainstream pop culture in recent years, and there are now millions of Kratom users in the U.S. alone. Although Kratom isn’t a new fad, its popularity has soared lately. Dozens of Kratom strains and products are imported from all over South Asia to meet the burgeoning demand for Kratom powder, extracts, gels, capsules, and other Kratom products.

However, as with anything you consume frequently, routine always makes things stale, especially with Kratom. Perhaps, that’s why they say that variety is the spice of life! So, Kratom users seek different strains and often try products from different origins just to keep things new. For them, Kratom blends are a perfect way to enjoy multiple strains simultaneously. Kratom blends give them a unique experience, unlike anything they’ve enjoyed before. That’s one of the appeals of Kratom blends.

Consistency

Anyone can prepare Kratom blends. Even you can mix up two packets of two different Kratom strains to create a new blend. However, what you cannot do is ensure consistency each time. It’s also painfully difficult to find the right ratio of individual strains that will create the perfect blend for you.

Fortunately, vendors like Left Coast Kratom design Kratom blends based on inputs and feedback from customers and early testers. So, you can be sure that Left Coast Kratom’s Kratom blends would appeal to a vast number of Kratom users, as they’ve been perfected with constructive feedback during testing.

More importantly, Left Coast Kratom creates Kratom blends in small batches to exert complete control over strain strength, quality, origin, and supply chain processes. So, our customers get Kratom blends in precise ratios and enjoy them just the way they like each time. There are never any unpleasant surprises in terms of quality.

Now that you understand why users choose Kratom blends over regular Kratom products, here’s everything you should know about our new Kratom blends.

Blended Kratom Powder

Blended Kratom Powder is the ultimate Kratom extravaganza. It combines yellow, red, white, and green strains of Kratom to give every type of Kratom user something to relish and enjoy.

After testing various combinations and ratios, we have developed this proprietary blend that takes Kratom users through the day. Whether you’re looking for a pick-me-up in the morning, or a relaxing evening, Blended Kratom Powder is the perfect everyday workhorse for you.

Blended Kratom Powder is a major upgrade for Kratom users who have tried various strains of Kratom and are now experiencing “strain fatigue.” This blend spices things up for such Kratom users with something unique and refreshing.

Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder

Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder is our top-class proprietary Kratom blend for one of those days when regular strains and blends just don’t do the trick. It’s the perfect blend for people who are looking for something a little extra with their Kratom.

Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder combines red, yellow, white, and green veins into a 5% standardized mitragynine content per serving. Standardizing the alkaloid content ensures you get a consistent serving every time.

What’s special about Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder is that it’s infused with a special Kratom extract that gives it a more concentrated alkaloid profile. Remember, Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder is designed for experienced Kratom consumers who are looking for something more than what a regular strain offers. When you’re ready for it, Enhanced Blended Kratom Powder will give you an experience unlike any other you’ve had before.

3 Reasons for Buying Kratom Blends from Left Coast Kratom

Kratom is something you put in your body, so you shouldn’t willy-nilly buy it from a random smoke shop or online vendor. You should make sure that your Kratom supplier is trusted and reliable. Here are 4 reasons for choosing Left Coast Kratom:

What Are Liquid Kratom Shots? A Crash Course From Left Coast

October 16, 2022 by Jacob

Have you ever heard of liquid Kratom shots?

These tiny bottles of Kratom extract can often be found at local retailers or smoke shops, and they are often mistaken for traditional energy drinks if not closely investigated. In a way, these drinks are a type of energy drink, but they’re not what the average consumer expects. Instead, they’re formulated from a kratom extract.

Even those familiar with Kratom may not know much about liquid Kratom shots. What are they, and how are they used? In today’s blog post, we’ll explain it all!

Kratom Extracts: Liquid Kratom Shots

Liquid Kratom shots are a type of Kratom extract. These small, pocket-sized beverages are made to provide a few small servings of Kratom along with other natural ingredients. In many ways, they are similar to a small energy drink beverage.

That being said, every liquid Kratom shot is different depending on the manufacturer. Some only contain Kratom and the necessary ingredients to suspend the alkaloids; others contain other natural and energy-boosting ingredients to act more like an energy drink than a straight botanical product.

When looking at these products, remember that some have natural mitragynine content and others have a blend of natural and lab-produced mitragynine. The root of the alkaloids could make a difference in how it affects your body, and it is always important to be informed about what you are consuming.

These types of liquid kratom shots can be found in many convenience stores, smoke shops, or other natural health stores that supply kratom products to their community.

What are Kratom Extracts?

Liquid Kratom shots are a type of extract. Kratom extracts are a type of product that has been refined from standard Kratom powder. These products can be liquid, powdered, or in a capsule. Many experienced users find extracts to be an excellent way to diversify their Kratom experience.

Kratom extracts are made through an extraction process in which the powder or leaves are steeped in a solvent like water or ethanol until a more concentrated version of the alkaloids remains. The final paste made through extraction is then blended into powder or made into a liquid to form the final kratom extract product.

Pros and Cons of Liquid Kratom Shots

As with all natural products, there can be both advantages and disadvantages to giving them a try. Those used to Kratom powder or new to Kratom entirely may want to read more about the potential pros and cons of liquid Kratom shots before trying this type of product.

Getting informed is essential to making the right choices for your needs, preferences, and body. Here are some of the primary pros and cons of liquid Kratom shot users.

Pros:

  • • Incredibly convenient
  • • Easier to use
  • • Portable
  • • It doesn’t take up much space
  • • May have higher potency

Cons

  • • High concentration; not great for new Kratom users
  • • Shorter shelf life than other types of Kratom
  • • May include ingredients other than Kratom

Liquid Kratom Shots At Left Coast

Here at Left Coast, we carry a variety of liquid Kratom products including our popular FSE Liquid Kratom Shot and our Full Spectrum Kratom Extract. This liquid Kratom extract is a white vein strain that contains 70mg of alkaloids in a 15 mL bottle.

Keep in mind, these products provide a higher concentration of Kratom than your standard powders like Bali or Maeng Da. Remember that when deciding on a serving size.

If you have any questions about our products, feel free to contact us for more information at any time.

Softgels and Capsules

We also have a variety of softgels and capsule forms of our kratom extracts in the shop. These are an excellent option for individuals that don’t enjoy the flavor or form of a liquid Kratom shot. These options come in different varieties and strains, so browse the full collection to find the best fit for your needs.

Your Safety is Our Priority

Grab-and-go products, like all Kratom shots, must be manufactured safely for consumers like you. If dishonest vendors cut corners when making this product, it could lead to severe health and safety risks. Before buying liquid Kratom shots from an unfamiliar brand, it is essential to pause and consider their reliability.

Everything that we sell is something we stand by, and we want our consumers to have a safe, enjoyable experience. We’re happy to help and want to make sure you get the information you need.

The Fine Grind: What Nano Kratom has to Offer

May 31, 2022 by Jacob

Do you keep up with the latest in kratom news? Are you always excited to learn about new botanical products?

Then get ready to learn about nano kratom!

Nano kratom is a unique type of kratom powder that isn’t yet stocked by many vendors, but it is possible that you’ll be seeing more of this type of kratom in the future. Many enthusiasts are thrilled to mix nano kratom in with their usual lineup for a completely new experience.

Getting Fine with Nano Kratom

Nano kratom is a type of kratom powder. Unlike standard powders that have a relatively coarse grind, nano kratom features an incredibly fine grind. The grind is so fine that the powder can be absorbed more quickly in various liquids. Nano kratom is known for taking effect more quickly and having a shorter duration. However, this can vary.

Benefits of Nano Kratom

Why would a finely ground kratom powder be appealing to kratom lovers? Some believe that nano kratom has a few major benefits that make a difference in how the body processes the powder.

First, the finely ground powder is much easier to mix into different liquids. For those that make tea, mix kratom into juice, or other utilize the botanical in liquid, this can be a huge benefit. Even if the hydrophobic qualities of kratom cannot be completely overcome, the finely ground powder is much less gritty in liquid compared to other powder types.

Second, early research and anecdotal reports suggest that nano kratom is absorbed more quickly by the body. If true, this would likely be because the fine size of the kratom can be more easily processed and absorbed. The onset of nano kratom could be more rapid than other kratom types if the body can access the alkaloids rapidly.

Finally, some botanical vendors suggest that the quality of kratom is intrinsically better in nano kratom. Due to the milling and extensive filtration process needed to create nano kratom, they believe that more contaminants are removed.

To us, this final point is the least important. All kratom should be thoroughly tested, regardless of how it is milled. If kratom is being tested to industry standards, the milling type should not matter when it comes to safety and quality.

Making Nano Kratom: What’s the Process?

Nano kratom is often made using nano mills. Unlike disc mills which are used to process standard kratom, these mills grind the powder much more finely. During the grinding process, nano kratom is finely filtered as well.

The end result is a kratom powder made up of tiny particles that are just microns in size. This is much smaller than traditional, coarsely ground kratom powder.

Other than the difference in milling, however, there isn’t a lot of difference between nano kratom and other kratom powder. The difference in nano kratom products will come from differences in kratom leaf quality, harvesting procedures, packaging, and other post-harvest processes. Nano kratom can be made from any leaf type, and it is even possible for kratom extracts to be finely ground.

Is Nano Kratom Right For You?

Kratom users that enjoy mixing up their kratom supply may be interested in adding nano kratom to the lineup. How do you know if this product is right for you?

Can you try a new product?

First, ask yourself if you are comfortable getting to know a new product. While nano kratom is made from the same base kratom leaf, the way that your body processes it is different. This means you should take time to start with a small serving and find out if and how nano kratom works with you.

This investigative process can take some time, so you should only explore nano kratom if you are prepared to do this.

Do you have a safe source?

Another thing to ask yourself is whether or not you have a high-quality source for nano kratom. Not all vendors create this type of kratom yet, so you might have more limited options. Before trying anything new, be sure that your kratom source is reliable and thoroughly tests their products.

This is always going to be an essential part of the buying process. Pure kratom is key to enjoying this botanical safely. Until kratom vendors are all held to the same standards in the US, doing research into the vendors you support is key.

How do you use kratom?

Finally, consider how you like to consume kratom. If you are someone that does toss and wash or mix kratom into liquid, nano kratom may be a great fit. For those that create capsules, however, there might not be a huge difference in the experience.

Of course, the experience is different based on your individual physiology. Whether or not you’ll find finely ground kratom to work well for your body is up to you.

A Commitment to Quality

As of writing today’s article, we don’t have any nano kratom products available in our line. We are always exploring new options and would only add new kratom categories if we are confident that they are quality additions to our line.

If you are interested in seeing nano kratom or other new botanical products, feel free to reach out to us at any time. We’re happy to take your suggestions and answer any questions about our current lines. Our commitment is to your safety and the safety of our products, and we’ll do whatever we can to provide that assurance.

Left Coast Kratom Compares: CBD & Kratom

November 10, 2021 by Jacob

CBD and Kratom are two popular plant products that are quickly gaining a reputation for being great botanicals to try out. Most people are more familiar with CBD than Kratom, but both products are being seen in favorable ways worldwide.

Left Coast Kratom is proud to offer Kratom products, but we know that it can be confusing for some customers to know what to buy if they aren’t familiar with how this compares to something more familiar like CBD. CBD and Kratom are unique plant products with unique characteristics.

Today, learn more about them both to determine what you are interested in exploring.

Similarity #1: They’re Both Plant Products!

The first, and most obvious, similarity between Kratom and CBD is that both of these substances originate from plants. The plants that each product comes from are different, but the processes used to harvest, process, and extract the plants have some similarity.

Where It Differs: CBD

CBD is a cannabinoid. A cannabinoid is a specific compound found in cannabis and hemp plants. Cannabinoids are responsible for the effects that these plants have when smoked, eaten, or otherwise taken. Some cannabinoids, like THC, cause mind-altering effects like euphoria.

CBD, on the other hand, does not have the same type of psychoactive effect. Instead, CBD is frequently used in an isolated form as a botanical supplement. People find that CBD helps to relieve a number of conditions without causing the user to become high, so CBD has become widely used in both home remedies and the medical field.

Where It Differs: Kratom

Kratom, on the other hand, is the actual name of the plant as well as the product. Kratom trees are a type of evergreen tree that is native to some parts of Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, and neighboring countries.

The leaves from these tall trees are harvested, dried, and processed to create Kratom powders and products. Kratom’s effects on the body are caused by alkaloids. Alkaloids are a compound found in many foods and plants. Caffeine, for instance, is an alkaloid found in many different plants.

The alkaloids found in Kratom are responsible for the botanical’s effects. Kratom is most often taken as a powder or a tea, but it can also be ingested in capsule form for easy serving.

Similarity #2: Effects

The reasons that people decide to try both CBD and Kratom are, in some cases, very similar. Those who want to take charge of their wellness or commit to a more natural lifestyle often consider adding both plant products to their daily routines.

Difference: CBD is Well-Studied

Thanks to an early interest by the scientific community, there have been a lot of studies done on CBD and its effects. It is the cannabinoid from cannabis plants that has been the most studied, and that is why it is a legal substance in most states today. CBD products are on sale around the country for this reason.

Difference: Kratom is Still Being Introduced

While Kratom plants and products have been studied for more than three decades, there have been significantly fewer studies on Kratom products when compared to CBD and other cannabis-based products.

This is mainly due to the difference in popularity, but there has also been a lot of pushback from the federal government against Kratom because it is not as familiar or common as some other botanicals.

Still, we know that alkaloids can have many positive and desirable effects on the body when used properly. The primary alkaloids in Kratom, known as mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, have been shown in early studies to be effective and beneficial. However, for Kratom to make it onto the open market to the degree that CBD is, more studies will need to be completed.

kratom tree growing

Similarity #3: Pushback

Depending on your age, you might remember a time when CBD and all cannabis-adjacent substances like it were looked at as very dangerous. This reaction by the public was largely due to propaganda campaigns in the late 20th century. It took many decades for advocates from the medical and science communities to prove that CBD was not a terrifying substance.

In a similar way, many people see Kratom as a dangerous substance at this time. This is largely due to a lack of information, but there is also an issue of no regulation of Kratom in some areas. When there is no law or regulation on natural botanical products, cheap sellers can cut corners and release dangerous products onto the market.

As time goes on and more advocates work to stabilize the Kratom community, positive growth will likely be seen in a similar way to what was seen within the CBD community many years ago.

Choosing The Best Kratom

If you’re ready to see what is available within the world of Kratom, we’re happy to share that we have a wide offering of high-quality products. It’s important to make sure that you always buy your Kratom from sellers, like Left Coast Kratom, that have your best interest in mind. Kratom Tea & More: 5 Unique Teas To Try

June 16, 2021 by Jacob

Did you know that there are hundreds of different teas?

While many teas are similar plants harvested and prepared in different ways, many teas are made from other plants. These botanical beverages, also referred to as herbal infusions or tisanes, are unique and lesser-known, but that doesn’t make them any less impactful worldwide.

Botanical teas made from herbs and plants around the world have unique properties. It’s time to learn more about these teas, including one of our favorites kratom tea, and see if any of them would be interesting for you to try. Let’s get into it.

Kratom Tea

Today’s list is going to start with our specialty: kratom tea. Kratom tea, made from leaves harvested from the kratom tree, is a specialty tea that has a long, rich history in parts of Southeast Asia. Locals in areas where kratom trees grow have long used this tea in ceremonies and as a daily drink to enhance productivity and unwind after the workday.

Today, this botanical tea is used worldwide by kratom lovers who have found the plant’s benefits to be amazing!

Kratom tea is easily brewed at home from the kratom tree’s leaves, and there are many different types of leaves. Depending on how the leaves are harvested and dried, the leaves have different chemical compositions. Once made into tea, the effects of the tea vary as well.

While kratom tea can be enjoyed iced, most people like it hot with honey and citrus mixed to help balance out the bitterness of the natural tea flavor. Beyond the great tea it makes, there are many cool things to learn about kratom.

Keep checking out more of our resources here at Left Coast Kratom to see what else is interesting to you. Definitely try our new kratom tea bags for an easy alternative to brewing kratom leaves.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is known for its intense, somewhat fiery flavor, but have you ever had ginger tea?

Many people know that ginger can ease tummy distress in things like ginger ale, but they don’t always realize that the powerful effects of ginger root can also be infused into teas. Ginger can be brewed as a completely herbal tea, but it is often mixed with green or black tea for a more interesting blend.

Ginger has long been shown to positively affect numerous body systems and to support healthy digestion. By drinking ginger tea, most people find that they get the comfort of a hot cup of tea and can ease their stomach and stress.

Ginger teas can be caffeine-free if they are completely herbal, but many people prefer ginger black teas that allow them to get the fiery punch of ginger alongside the boost of caffeine from the black tea. No matter how you choose to enjoy it, there’s no doubt that ginger root has a lot of unique benefits in tea form.

Guayusa

Guayusa tea, like kratom tea, is an herbal infusion that has been used for hundreds of years where the play grows native. Guayusa is made from the leaves of a specific variety of holly vines. In parts of South America, such as Ecuador, guayusa tea has increased alertness while providing beneficial plant compounds and vitamins.

Guayusa shares another considerable similarity with kratom: there have not yet been enough studies to learn all of the potentially positive effects of this botanical. While traditional use suggests that guayusa tea can boost energy and provide other benefits, it will be some time until we can confirm that with scientific studies rather than anecdotes.

Early evidence, however, suggests that guayusa should be considered very similar to other teas like green tea or yerba mate, with very few potential side effects for humans.

Yaupon

The next tea we’ll cover is native to North America: yaupon. Yaupon is a plant that grows wild in parts of the southern United States. It has been traditionally used by native cultures to brew a strong tea with a heady, herbal taste.

Yaupon tea is brewed from a type of holly, making it very similar to some of the other teas we have discussed today. The plant varieties are different, but there are some considerable similarities between the historical teas of South and North America.

Yaupon tea is known to have a small amount of caffeine. Like green tea, it’s an excellent option for a morning or midday cup of tea if you just need a little bit of extra pick-me-up.

Yerba Maté

Many people describe maté as a tea with the punchy caffeine hit of coffee. In reality, however, yerba maté is neither tea nor coffee. Instead, it is best described as an infusion. Teas are infusions, but they are typically made from herbal or tea leaf sources. On the other hand, Yerba maté is made from the leaves and twigs of a specific South American plant.

Yerba maté has been described to have a robust and vegetal taste. This taste can be hard to adjust to, but people often feel the same way about coffee when they first taste it.

The history of how yerba maté is communally drunk in certain South American countries is fascinating to many people. Usually, people gather together for conversation and communion over the yerba maté. They use a gourd, a special straw that filters the leaves out, and a thermos of hot water to brew and share the infusion continually.

Strain Comparison: Why Are There Different Kratom Colors?

June 3, 2021 by Jacob

Most plants develop into many varieties out of a single species. Just as there are different types of lilies that might grow in your garden, different Kratom types grow in the world. Variation in how the plants grow, where they grow, and how they are harvested leads to various Kratom strains appearing on the market.

One of the broadest ways to define these Kratom variations is by color: why are there different Kratom colors? Kratom enthusiasts often find they prefer certain colors of Kratom, but they aren’t always aware of why the colors exist at all.

Today, learn more about Kratom color variation, where it comes from, and how the powders differ because of this variation.

Kratom: What Is The Plant?

To get a better idea of how strains make a difference when it comes to Kratom, it’s best to start with some base knowledge of the plant itself.

Kratom is a type of evergreen tree native to Southeast Asian regions, including Malaysia, Borneo, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea. The hot, humid climates in these locations pair with highly fertile soil to make a perfect growing environment for Kratom.

The botanical product comes from the leaves of the Kratom trees. Kratom leaves are harvested, dried, and processed to make Kratom powder and other Kratom-based products. Kratom may interact but not bind with important receptors in the body, potentially leading to beneficial effects.

What Are Alkaloids?

Before getting into more specifics of different Kratom color strains, it’s essential to understand a bit more about alkaloids.

Alkaloids are found in many plants, not just in Kratom leaves. Caffeine is an alkaloid found in coffee beans and some tea leaves, for example. Alkaloids each react with the body differently, and each of these reactions can cause different physiological or psychological effects.

Kratom is known to contain more than 40 different alkaloids, and these alkaloids appear in different concentrations. The concentration varies for many reasons:

  • • Growing conditions
  • • Growing season
  • • Time of harvesting
  • • How they are harvested
  • • How the leaves are dried
  • • Soil composition
  • • Weather patterns

Individual alkaloids found in Kratom are being studied to learn more about their specific effects when consumed. Two compounds, however, are currently attributed for most of the effects seen with Kratom use: mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine.

As the two most common alkaloids, the composition percentage of these two chemical compounds is written Kratom labeling for consumer knowledge.

Different Colors, Different Strains

As mentioned above, the exact chemical composition of Kratom varies depending on a wide variety of factors. The changes in those factors create the range of Kratom strains that we see on the market today.

Just as tea leaves are harvested at different times or ways to establish variety, the same can be done when Kratom leaves are harvested.

The simplest way to categorize Kratom strains is by their color. Kratom is found in red, green, yellow, and white varieties. Much of the distinction between these color strains lies in the number of alkaloids in each of them. Still, there are some other important distinctions to point out. Let’s find out more about the color strains and where they come from.

Red Vein Kratom

When Kratom leaves are harvested at full maturity, these leaves are known as red vein Kratom.

At this point in the growth cycle, Kratom leaves begin to put less energy into overall tree growth, and more of that energy stays in the leaves. This causes changes in the chemistry of the leaves and affects the balance of alkaloids in them.

Red vein Kratom has a mellow profile that is exceptionally high in the alkaloid Mitragynine. These leaves’ earthy tone sometimes looks brown in appearance; most see its color as a dark, muddy green.

Yellow Vein Kratom

Yellow vein Kratom is dried through a small-batch process that was initially popular in Vietnam and Thailand. The leaves selected for this process are typically mature, green leaves rich in alkaloids.

Here’s how the leaves are then processed:

  1. 1.) Green leaves are spread out evenly on drying racks.
  2. 2.) For several days, the leaves are left in direct sunlight.
  3. 3.) The sunlight breaks down the chlorophyll in the leaves, which causes the leaves to begin to yellow.
  4. 4.) The process is stopped after the leaves dry. Timing variation means there is a good variety in the number of potential yellow strains.

As you can see, harvesting and processing yellow vein Kratom is particularly time-intensive.

Green Vein Kratom

Green veins have one of the most balanced alkaloid profiles of all strain colors of Kratom.

To make green vein Kratom, leaves are typically harvested after budding is completed, before the leaves have completely matured. This created the vibrant color seen in the final processed form of green vein Kratom. Most green vein varieties contain a wide array of alkaloids but are very balanced in each alkaloid’s amounts because of the leaves’ age.

White Vein Kratom

White Vein Kratom is harvested earlier in the growing process than any other color of Kratom. Leaves that are still growing are harvested from Kratom trees and then allowed to dry. This process causes the alkaloid 7-hydroxymitragynine to be present in higher concentrations than in any other color strain.

While it is called white vein Kratom, the color of this Kratom powder is typically a light tan.
