11 Great Gifts For Kratom Lovers!

December 11, 2019 by LCK

Are you getting excited about the upcoming holiday season? Or are you already dreading trying to figure out which gifts are going to be the best options for your loved ones? Here at Left Coast Kratom, we’re feeling a little of both.

It’s normal to get stressed about finding the right gift for someone special to you. If you’re special someone or one of your friends happens to be a kratom user, we’re here to help you. We’ve gathered up a list of some of our favorite kratom-related products so that you can get them a gift that they’ll know how to use and enjoy!

#1 Flavored Syrups

Kratom tea is often bitter and hard to drink. To make it tastier, many kratom users like to mix other flavor components into their tea. Flavored syrups, like those that are made to flavor coffee or cocktails, are a great choice. Choose a few flavors and get them something delicious!

One of the coolest things about buying them a unique gift like this one is that the syrups can be used for tons of different things. Flavoring coffee, tea, ice cream, water, juice, wine, and more. If you want to buy your friend a gift that doesn’t feel restricting, this is a fantastic option.

#2 Kitchen Scale

Most kratom consumers need to measure out their servings very accurately to ensure that they’re taking the right amount. However, many may not want to splurge on the cost of a kitchen scale that will be able to measure such small weights. They might consider it to be a luxury that they don’t need to indulge in.

A kitchen scale is a thoughtful gift for those that use kratom, and it can also be used for other tasks (like baking) around the home as well. Why not give a gift that gives more than once?

#3 Tea Bags

There are a lot of different ways to prepare kratom tea, and each of those ways requires a different set of tools. Try to find out how your friend or loved one prepares their kratom tea so that you can find out what tools might be useful for them.

Tea bags are a fairly common way to prepare kratom, especially if the user likes to use kratom leaves instead of powder. Like more traditional tea leaves, kratom leaves are put into tea bags and brewed.

Tea bags are thus a great inexpensive gift. They can be bought in bulk, and they’re something that will definitely be useful down the line for your giftee!

#4 Capsules

Another common way to consume kratom is to take the powder in a pill. By taking kratom this way, the tough-to-swallow taste of kratom tea can be completely avoided without needing to mask it with flavors, syrups, and sweeteners.

While capsules can be bought pre-filled, it can be very expensive, and there is no way to modify the amount of kratom when those capsules are used.

You can help your friend save some money and customize their kratom experience ever further by purchasing them some empty capsules in bulk. The capsules can be easily filled with any type or amount of kratom, and then used with ease.

#5 Capsule Machine

Similar to #4, you could also splurge a bit more and get your friend a capsule machine. This simple gadget is something that most people won’t buy for themselves, but using it makes it much easier to fill capsules yourself rather than needing to do it by hand. Take a look and see if it is something that your friend would like.

#6 Tea Infuser

If your friend brews their own kratom tea, you could opt to get them a kratom tea infuser rather than tea bags. Tea infusers that are made to deal with leaves and powders both would be a great choice. Typically, this type of infuser has a much finer mesh so that the power doesn’t need to be strained out of the final product.

#7 Donation

Does your friend support any organizations that are fighting for the legalization of kratom, such as the American Kratom Association? If they are passionate about an organization, you might consider making a donation in their name as a gift.

#8 Books

There is a lot to be learned about kratom, and most users don’t even know all of the basics yet! Shop around for a book that would interest your friend about the kratom community if they are the type that likes to read a book now and then.

#9 Specialty Tea Bags

Specialty tea bags are a good option for friends that you know use kratom, but you aren’t quite sure how they prepare their own tea. This type of tea bag can be used to flavor kratom tea by mixing tea concentrate with brewed tea from one of these bags, so the mix of the two is a great way to enjoy the tea.

If, however, your friend doesn’t love using flavors in their kratom tea, they’ll still be able to enjoy this specialty tea as a standalone drink. By purchasing something like this that can be used regardless of whether or not kratom is involved.

#10 Personalized Cup or Mug

Who doesn’t love to have a great cup or mug to use to enjoy their favorite drink? Why not get your friend something that features one of their favorite things or is personalized to be just for them?

There are a lot of great options when it comes to buying themed or personalized drinking vessels today. No matter what you dream up, you can easily have it made and shipped out at an affordable price. Why not give it a try?

#11 Clothes

Finally, think about getting your friend some kratom-themed apparel. It might seem a bit silly at first, but, usually, people that are into kratom are really excited about it. By giving them some apparel that they can wear out-and-about, they can connect with other kratom lovers with ease.

September 18, 2019 by LCK

Love drinking tea? Have you found the same love for Kratom tea, or are you still struggling to figure out the best way to create an appetizing Kratom drink?

As much as we love Kratom products, we know that Kratom tea is a bit of an acquired taste. There’s no doubt that it takes some time to get the flavor combination and brewing methods adjusted to suit your palette. Even then, it’s nothing like drinking a standard tea latte!

Still, we are believers that you should be able to enjoy each step of the Kratom process as much as possible. We’ve used our own experiences as well as those of our customers to create this quick guide to adjusting Kratom tea to taste as good as possible.

With this guide in hand, you’ll be able to revolutionize the way that you enjoy your tea.

How To Make Kratom Tea

Before we get into the different ways that you can adjust the tea to taste better, we need to tell you how to make tea! While we have a full guide on brewing Kratom tea, this short review can serve as a reminder for what you should be doing when you make your tea.

  1. 1. Gather a pot, a liter of water, Kratom tea powder, and some type of strainer. We prefer to use cheesecloth, but a mesh strainer can work well, too.
  2. 2. Bring water to a full boil. Then, lower the heat.
  3. 3. Allow the water to cool down after boiling for around three minutes.
  4. 4. Add your Kratom leaves. The batch size is up to you!
  5. 5. Allow the water to remain at a simmer, and let your tea simmer for around twenty minutes.
  6. 6. Use your preferred strainer to get the Kratom leaves out of your tea once it is done simmering.

You can then drink the tea hot, or allow it to cool and refrigerate it for up to five days. Preparing Kratom tea in larger batches like this in advance will allow you to save time when you want to consume daily. Otherwise, you will need to go through this entire process every day!

Different Flavor Profiles

There are a lot of different ways that you can change up how you drink your Kratom tea for here. Few people will want to drink Kratom straight as it was just prepared; most will want to add at least some type of sweetener. Today, we’ve rounded up a number of great suggestions that you can use to make Kratom tea taste better!

Add Flavored Milk

How do you like to drink your tea or coffee? Do you add milk and sweetener? Many people add flavored creams or milk to their morning beverages to make it taste better, and the same can be done with Kratom.

Adding a sweetened milk beverage component such as vanilla almond milk is a great way to completely change the flavor profile that Kratom tea offers. It is sweet and milky, and these two aspects help to cut through the natural earthiness of Kratom quite well.

If almond milk isn’t your thing, there are a lot of other options:

  • Any flavored dairy creamer
  • Flavored soy milk
  • Flavored oat milk
  • Straight milk if you are avoiding sugar

We suggest almond milk as the top choice among these options not only because it makes the drink smoother but also because it is an alkaline beverage. This helps it line up with the chemical composition of Kratom very well.

Try It Citrus-y and Sweet

Another very common way to enjoy Kratom tea is to add a sweetener such as honey and sugar as well as lemon. As mentioned above, Kratom has a very rich, earthy flavor. This flavor can be too heavy for many people.

The citrus from lemon juice can, however, cut through that darkness. The honey or sugar can make the tea taste sweeter overall and eliminate even more of those earthy flavors. When adding sugar, it is best to start with a spoonful per 12-ounce cup and add more as needed.

There are other benefits to using lemon in your Kratom tea, especially if you’ll be storing it to use throughout the week! The citric acid in lemon can help to ensure that the alkaline content of the tea doesn’t break down too much while in storage, so it is an especially great thing to add to your tea.

Lemon isn’t the only citrus that can be used in this way! You can also use orange or grapefruit juice instead if you want to try a different flavor profile instead of lemon.

Mix With Another Tea

Another way that you can enjoy Kratom tea more is if you try to combine it with a sweet or fruity tea that will help to balance out the earthy taste of Kratom. We recommend brewing them separately and then experimenting with the ratios of tea-to-tea to figure out what works for you.

Some of our favorite teas to try with Kratom include:

  • Raspberry tea
  • Green, citrus tea
  • Flavored teas (vanilla, chai, etc.)
  • Fruity teas
  • Sweetened tea
  • Tea lemonades

When brewing tea to mix with Kratom tea, we recommend that you use twice the number of tea bags that you would normally use. This will help you to create a more concentrated flavor. More intense flavors will be more effective at balancing the strong flavor of Kratom tea.

Just Add A Syrup!

Finally, there’s one more easy way to change up the flavor of your Kratom tea. Just add a few pumps of your favorite flavor via a simple syrup! You can find these syrups at many stores as they are often used for flavoring coffee and tea at home. Using a little bit to Kratom tea is sure to work wonders as well!

Stick to similar profiles as the teas listed about: sweet and fruity flavors are going to be the most effective at helping to make Kratom tea more palatable to you.

Batch Guide: How To Make Kratom Tea

August 28, 2019 by LCK

Once you’ve decided that you want to give Kratom a try, you will have to choose what type of consumption method you want to use. While many beginners stick to liquid extracts or capsules for the ease of use, veterans of Kratom enjoy experimenting with different varieties of tea powders and tea brewing methods to spice up their tea.

Making Kratom tea, as hard as it may seem at first, isn’t actually any harder than making any other tea! The main thing that should concern you is whether or not you enjoy the final product so that you can adjust your brewing method until you get it just right.

While you will ultimately need to make personalized adjustments to your tea brewing method to suit your own needs, we are going to share our favorite methodologies for brewing Kratom tea. Use these methods as a starting point, and then get creative from there.

Beginner Notes

Before we get into the methodology of brewing your own Kratom tea, allow us to share a few important tips and tricks that will help to ensure that you get it right from the start.

  • • Do not mix Kratom tea powder with boiling water.
Adding Kratom powder to a rolling boil is going to destroy a lot of the powders natural alkaloid content, and that is the main benefit of using Kratom. Instead, allow boiling water to cool for a minute before you start the brewing steps or add the powder when the water is just starting to simmer instead of boil. Trust us on this one!

  • • Try adding citrus juice.
It’s been suggested that adding something acidic such as the juice of a lemon to your tea will help to keep the alkaloids from being released during the brewing process. Doing this regularly will keep your tea brewing more consistent between batches.

  • • Only keep your tea for up to five days.
It can be tempting to try to brew a huge batch of Kratom tea to last you for a few weeks, but the simple truth is that the powers of the Kratom will not be able to stand up to that long in the refrigerator. Instead, plan only in five-day batches.

  • • Longer gets stronger.
The longer you boil your Kratom tea, the stronger the flavor will become. Kratom is naturally quite bitter, so keep this in mind as you experiment with your tea taste.

  • • Everyone’s body differs.
While we suggest that everyone start with no more than one or two grams of Kratom tea powder per cup, everyone’s body is different. You will need to monitor your body’s reactions to Kratom to determine the best serving size for your body.

Method #1: In A Pot

Making Kratom tea in a pot on the stove is a great way to make a larger batch that you can share with friends or store for up to five days in the refrigerator to enjoy later. It’s pretty easy to do as well!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • • Large pot
  • • 1 liter of water
  • • Kratom tea powder
  • • Cheesecloth or a mesh strainer

Here’s what to do to prepare your tea:

  1. 1. Put the water in the pot and boil it.

  1. 2. Lower the heat and allow it to cool down from the boil for at least two minutes.

  1. 3. Add the appropriate amount of Kratom tea powder or leaves for your own needs to the water.

  1. 4. Simmer for up to 20 minutes. Adjust the length according to your personal taste and needs.

  1. 5. After simmering, use either the cheesecloth or mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves.

  1. 6. If you were using a powder, allow the powder to settle to the bottom and then pour off the liquid that settles on top.

Once you have this tea concentrate ready, you can then prepare yourself a cup of tea! We recommend mixing the tea with a citrus juice or adding a sweetener like honey, agave, or maple syrup to the tea to drink it. Of course, the taste of Kratom is quite powerful. Chugging it is going to be easier than trying to sip it!

Method #2: Tea Pot

Like standard teas, you can make Kratom tea from powder or leaves in a teapot as well. This is a great method when you want to enjoy it immediately and don’t need to make a large batch that can be used for a few days.

Overall, this method is probably the simplest to do, but it doesn’t differ much from the large batch method except in the container that you use to boil the tea.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • • Teapot
  • • Water
  • • Kratom tea powder or leaves
  • • Tea bags or a mesh tea strainer

And here’s what to do:

  1. 1. Add the wanted amount of Kratom tea powder or leave into a tea bag or mesh strainer. If using a strainer, we recommend sticking to Kratom tea leaves for a cleaner final product.

  1. 2. Boil water in your teapot. Allow it to cool off slightly.

  1. 3. Put your tea bag or mesh strainer into your mug.

  1. 4. Add water.

  1. 5. Steep for anywhere from five to twenty minutes depending on the strain, your taste, and your patience! Ultimately, you can stop it whenever you want.

Adding a slice of lemon and some sugar or honey to tea prepared this way is a great way to improve the flavor of your mug of Kratom tea. If you would prefer to have this iced, add any desired sweeteners to the tea while hot. Then, pour the tea over ice or store it in the fridge overnight to enjoy the next day!

Kratom Tea: Variety Is The Speciality

These are just the two most common ways that people prepare Kratom tea. There are, of course, other ways that you can go about making tea, but we’ve found that these are the most straightforward and effective ways of brewing, especially for those who are new to the world of Kratom.

Remember that your creativity can be explored when making Kratom tea and trying different products. By altering which strain, serving sizes, sweeteners, and brewing method you use, you’ll be able to try Kratom tea in many different ways. Explore these ways to see which type of tea you like the most!

Top 3 Ways To Take Kratom: Take Your Pick!

May 29, 2019 by LCK

There are a lot of wonderful things in this world. For many people, Kratom, also known as Mitragyna speciosa, has been a welcome addition to their daily routines.

While the reasons that people take Kratom vary as much as their professions, there is some commonality between them. All these people tend to favor one of these three top ways to take Kratom!

Whether you’re new to Kratom or simply curious about the different ways that it can be taken, today’s guide will help you learn more about the main techniques that are used to enjoy this wonderful botanical product.

#1: All About That Tea!

The most common method of taking Kratom that you are likely to hear about when visiting online Kratom communities is Kratom tea.

Kratom tea is fairly easy to make, and it is one of the most enjoyable ways of consuming Kratom. It can even be a little bit fun since making the tea allows you to take your personal taste preferences into consideration as well!

Kratom tea is most often made with Kratom leaves, but the powders that we will talk about in #2 below can also be used to make a type of tea if you are creative about it.

Pros

The real benefit of using the tea method is that you will not be eating the actual plant matter nearly as much as you do in the other delivery methods. What does this mean for you? This means that your stomach won’t be as likely to get upset. Ingesting plant matter can be a big cause of stomachaches, so the tea can help you avoid that.

Another bonus is that you can mix it up with your own flavors – adding sweeteners, honey, citrus, and more can help your tea taste better than straight Kratom would. Get rid of the some of the bitterness with your own special concoction!

Cons

The biggest drawback of this method is that it takes a good bit of time to make Kratom tea, so it’s not something that you can simply pick up and use. If you often find yourself short on time, you’ll probably prefer another method.

#2: Powders & Capsules

The next most popular method of consumption is to use powder and powder-filled capsules.

Kratom powder is made from ground-up leaves or ground-up leaves and stems of the Kratom plant. This is likely the most efficient way of taking Kratom, and it is also one of the quickest methods.

The Kratom powder itself can be made into a tea, mixed into other foods, or simply put into a capsule to be taken as is. The decision about how to take the powder is up to you.

Pros

Kratom powder can be used in a wide variety of ways, and that makes it very appealing for those who want to try to experiment with different ingestion methods. You can make tea, mix it into your smoothie, or take capsules.

Another benefit is that it is very easy and affordable to buy powdered Kratom in bulk, and storing it is easy as well. You can even make capsules yourself at home and save a lot of money by doing so.

Cons

Kratom powder can be messy! Even if you are very careful, there is a good chance that you’ll accidentally make a mess when you are trying to make your own capsules or just get your daily serving ready to go. That can be frustrating.

Another downside is that powdered Kratom contains a lot of plant matter, so you will need to be mindful of counteracting this as much as possible.

#3: Extracts

If you don’t want to deal with the taste of Kratom through powder or tea, using extracts might be a great choice for you. While they still have some flavor, they aren’t nearly as potent in terms of smell or taste.

Extracts are a distilled, concentrated version of extract. Typically labeled as Full Spectrum Kratom (or FST), this is one of the most convenient ways to take Kratom. The carrier oil or alcohol has been blended with alkaloids extracted from Kratom plants so that you can take just the alkaloids more directly without much of the plant itself.

You might also come across what are known as powdered extracts. While these can resemble powdered Kratom at first glance, they are actually a liquid extract that has had all of the liquid evaporated out of it, leaving behind only the powder.

Pros

The biggest benefit of this method of taking Kratom is convenience. It’s super easy to add a few drops to your drink, meal, water, or straight into your mouth! If you want a discreet and fast way to use Kratom, this is definitely going to be a good option for you.

Another bonus is that this type of extracts tends to have a higher concentration of alkaloids than other Kratom delivery methods, so you will need to use less product.

Cons

Kratom plants have a lot of benefits for your body beyond just the alkaloids that are known and used when making extractions. When you use an extract, you aren’t getting the complete Kratom matter. While this helps reduce some side effects, it may also decrease effectiveness for some people.

The Method Is Yours

In the end, you can use one or all of these methods in your own personal Kratom consumption! The method that you want to use will depend on your goals, needs, and style, so you should simply use our suggestions as guidance for what you want to do.

If none of these top methods appeal to you, there is one more way that you can take Kratom. You can try pre-made Kratom tablets or gum. These are usually less affordable than the other methods of Kratom consumption discussed today, but they can be a good choice in some situations.

5 Reasons We Think You’ll Love Kratom Capsules

May 1, 2019 by LCK

Kratom powder usage has been trending upward for a number of years, and that’s unlikely to change in the coming years. When many people think of taking Kratom, they think of drinking Kratom tea or another concoction to ingest the Kratom powder. And while tea is a great way to take Kratom, we think there’s another ingestion method you might love.

Have you ever considered Kratom capsules instead of brewing tea? Using capsules isn’t a new thing, but it is something that many Kratom users haven’t yet tried.

At Left Coast Kratom, we sell a wide variety of Kratom capsules made using all of the most popular Kratom strains, and we think you might really like them!

Curious to try something new or simply ready to stop brewing up Kratom tea? Then check out these five reasons that we think you might enjoy mixing it up with capsules instead!

Banner For Shopping

#1 Convenience

The first reason that you might enjoy trying out Kratom capsules is because of how convenient they are. Sure, tea might be very enjoyable for you to make and drink, but you can’t easily create it when you’re in a rush or on the go.

If you’re going on a trip, headed out of town for the weekend, or just planning to be very busy for a few weeks, Kratom capsules make it possible for you to still take your usual serving without having to bring tea with you.

Capsules are quick, easy, and neat. Even experience tea brewers can make a huge mess when they’re brewing, and you don’t always want to have to deal with the straining and the clean up of making Kratom tea.

Kratom capsules are very convenient, and that’s the main reason we recommend giving them a try!

#2 Skip The Taste

If you’ve been trying Kratom tea but you haven’t yet become accustomed to the taste of it, you might find that using Kratom capsules instead can be much more enjoyable. When you use capsules, you nearly bypass all of the very strong and bitter taste.

Kratom tea has a very strong – and surprising – taste when you first start drinking it. While most people adjust and come to find ways to make it suit your taste, it can be a difficult process for those with more picky palettes.

When you take a Kratom capsule, you don’t taste anything. You can get any size capsule that you want as well, so you don’t have to worry about swallowing a giant pill if you have difficulty swallowing pills.

#3 Fewer Side Effects

For some Kratom users, there are fewer side effects when Kratom is taken as a capsule instead of as tea. This can’t be said to be a universal scenario, but changing from tea to capsules has made a huge difference for some users.

In particular, some people have found that the capsules are more comfortable for them than powders or leaves when taken in similar amounts. Additionally, some people reported having fewer negative effects when they were first increasing the amount they consume.

Regardless of whether or not you have this exact experience, trying out a different method of Kratom consumption can help you to figure out which method works best for your needs and preferences.

#4 Affordable

Here is another one of the things that I love most about using capsules: they are affordable! Some people falsely believe that taking Kratom capsules is sure to be more expensive than making tea because capsules on the market often work out to be a little bit more expensive than bulk powder.

And sure, there is a little bit of validity to that statement. After all, the change in packaging is going to cost something!

But what if I told you that you don’t need to pay much more because you can buy your own capsules and fill them with powders that you buy in bulk? Sure, it takes a little bit of time, but you’d be surprised how easy it is.

When you put together Kratom capsules on your own by using bulk powder and capsules, you’ll be able to use Kratom just as affordable as when you are brewing tea, and you won’t have to spend all that time on making the tea!

#5 Customize Your Experience

Finally, let’s talk about the number one reason why some people prefer to use capsules over Kratom tea. That would be because you can easily customize your mix and experience!

If you want to take a slightly smaller serving today, you can by simply making a slightly smaller capsule. If you want to try a new mix of powders that you have, you can. All you need to do is mix the powders together and then add them to a capsule for easy consumption.

Using Kratom capsules can be an incredibly personal and custom experience. You’ll start to feel like a scientist who is working in their lab to create the perfect serving size. In a way, you’re doing just that! You’re going to be able to create your perfect Kratom mix using capsules, and it’s very easy to do.

Of course, you don’t have to make your own capsules if you don’t want to. There are also dozens of different capsules on the market that are pre-made and pre-mixed in different ways. To save time while still having a variety of capsules on hand, you could buy various capsule packs.

Capsules Could Be Your Kratom Future

As you can see, there are a lot of different ways that taking Kratom via capsule instead of through Kratom tea might be appealing. In a way, capsules are a much more simple and direct way of using this powder.

Still, using capsules won’t be for everyone. Most people like to use more than one method of consumption depending on the Kratom strain, the serving size, and the mood that they are in on any given day! Learn about both methods so that you can mix it up whenever you feel ready for something new.
